I had the auxbeam installed for around 2 years without issues. I still have it but I created my own switch panel with a touchscreen and that’s what I’m using now.

    IMG_2435.jpg Question;

I picked up the 8 gang Bluetooth dealio and Auxbeam says to ground to battery terminal only. My battery is in back behind cab in a battery box inside a toolbox lol… got positive bus bar up front and was planning on grounding to frame but… so the question is have any of you ground it the frame or only battery terminal? Any ideas? Didn’t want to wire all the way back or place it in back exposed…

Hm... strange, my instructions said to ground to chassis. However, I haven't hooked any lights to it yet (lights and HAM radio coming)...

If you are running a positive wire all the way to the battery, why not the negative while you're at it?
I think doing it right the first time is always best!
I am not an electrician so I don't know the reasoning for it haha

eh... my nilight or auxbeam are all grounded to the chassis. not a one to battery, no issues other then one of mine the control lights quit working but still functioned. but that I'm sure was not to do with the ground.

and a new control was sent out and ran like a champ yet again.

i suspect they're saying this to remove any other issues out of the system.

there's absolutely no issue with grounding to the chassis, as long as you are also/previously added a larger ground wire from the chassis to the battery to properly support the additional electrical loads the switch box will create.

Not to drag up an old thread from the dead, but I've had my 8 gang installed for a while now, running four switches for my lights. I just want to know if I can hook up my GMRS and CB radios to it as well, or if it will cause interference. I would really like to get my cigarette lighter port back!

you all don't just run a hot lead to your CB and GMRS? that ones of the few things that I run hot to a BUS bar off my battery.. but think mine does have a "sticker" for a radio so maybe?

That is how I have my CB wired up rn, but the GMRS came with a 12V plug so I have been using that for convenience. I'd really like to clean up all the wires going to the battery though.

I recently purchased the Auxbeam 8 Gang AC-800 and before doing so checked the specs of my lights online as far as the amps. It looked like it would handle all my lights just fine. I went to hook up my Baja Designs S8 40 inch light bar that says it draws 16 amps today and noticed it has a 40 amp fuse. Would it be ok to use the 30 amp fuse in the Auxbeam?

From what little I understand I thought you determined the fuse by adding 25% to the normal operating current? 16 amp + 25% = 20 amp fuse. So I was a little shocked to see a 40 amp fuse.

If you’re worried about it just put in separate power and a relay for your lights and let the Auxbeam switch the relay on and off.

I could do that but if 30 amp fuse is sufficient I would rather do that and not have all that extra wire, fuse, and relay.

Just ordered an auxbeam 6 gang bc60 for my 24 taco....
Noticed the 6 gang doesn't come with the additional external circuit breaker like the 8 gang...
    Any thoughts?
    Anyone running the 6 gang?
I emailed auxbeam to see what they say....
