    A good sized portion of the trail for Matilija falls was private land and the land owner decided he no longer wanted people walking through his property to get back to the falls...

    Since the trail is in a canyon... There really no other way to get back to thr falls

    As for falls past the 1st punch bowl it's a yes and no... Depends on how much water is in thr river system. There are some awesome natural water slides about 40 min farther back from thr 1st punch bowl but it's not easy to get to and if you don't know where you're going it's easy to get lost

    I wish... Check the very last few pages in my gallery. There are some cool old fire lookout towers in Lockwood valley which is in the mountains behind ojai. Lots of fun stuff to explore back there
