Aloha, just moved from Hawaii to Redondo, South Bay. Slowly building my truck for a weekend adventure rig and hopefully meet up with some fellow Toyota guys.

Ship it out of long beach on Matson or one of the others. I've shipped a few cars back and forth and its not too bad. Also, since you have a manual (great choice) it will be harder to replace in Hawaii because although Servco has a TON of Tacomas the manuals are few and far between.

Thanks! Yeah, contemplated selling then buying another in HI. Figured it’d be cheaper to ship. My other question about shipping is in regards to mods. Do I have to bring it back to stock? Cause that’s gonna be a lot of work.

They don't care about mods usually. The big things are that the truck has less than a quarter tank of gas and make sure if you're still financing the truck that you have an official authorization letter from the lender to ship it or they wont let ship the truck. Should be about $1,500 to ship it which I would be willing to bet is way cheaper than reversing out all your mods and selling it or getting a new truck and modding it again. Not sure what island you are from but that price assumes Oahu shipping only.

They dont care about mods. The only real limitation is height of the truck. If the truck isnt too tall, they can put it on an upper deck that is enclosed. If your truck is lifted, they will still take it. They just store it on one of the decks with the trailers and other tall vehicles. Manual vehicles get lashed to the deck so they dont have to worry about the truck slipping out of gear and causing damage.
