I bought a built high pinion diff w/ 5.29's and Yukon Zip locker from Marlin during a sale. It cost about the same as regearing and locking my 4cyl diffs. I payed ECGS like $940 I think (1 Spartan locker, 1 spool, 2 master install kits and labor), I already had the gears, which were about $370 new but I got mine for $280. I asked 4wheelparts up the street from me how much they would charge to regear if I supplied all the parts and they said over $900 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully it will be here by the end of next week. I need to find a good local exhaust shop soon :spy:

i would so do this if i was getting rid of a/c. all you would have to do is convert the compressor. no fabbing or finding the right belt

Then maybe one of you would be so kind as to help me in the process? I still think I can live without A/C.

That looks like a pretty good solution. The write-up I've been looking at involves an external air tank that he was able to tuck up above the frame. I like the one you posted a lot better.

Welp, I was going to remove the header today, but I spotted this right off the bat.

    :frusty:

I might end up taking it to a shop and having all the exhaust work done  including the box o' parts I should get next week.

Spray lots of pb blaster on the bolts/nuts each day before the install. Might help a little.

I started the first round yesterday. It's kind of nasty outside today so I might not get to it. I also think I overreacted because my buddy pointed out that I am getting a new header and that bold goes from the outside of the heat shield to the header itself so I don't think it will keep me from removing the header from the manifold anyways.
