The shift rails inside the case have to be modified to operate independently. Look at trail gear's twin stick install instructions.

How do you like Beasly Knob, planning on going down over the summer but couldn't really find much on the place.

I loved it the one time I went. Me and my uncle plan to go back soon. It was challenging with open/open and radials but I was able to do a decent amount. We didn't go down all the trails but if I go back I plan on it. If it is the slightest bit wet its much more challenging, just like Gulches.

Ok I had been thinking about going and wanted to know if there was a decent challenge and good trail riding. You get those half doors built yet from the doors I sold you.

Yeah it was a fun trip. Yeah I have I just need to put them on. The weather here has been pretty cold recently. It actually snowed pretty hard yesterday.

I'm gonna drop the Spartan in today :goingcrazy:

She is starting to live up to her name, Gold Digger.

Just priced out the final parts for getting duals set up and it going to be around $1300. Not to mention getting my driveshafts modified. Why did I pick such an expensive hobby?

That price includes a Marlin adapter and Marlin 4.7 gears.

If your going duals I wouldn't bother with 4.7s until after you get the cases in and see how you like it. It will probably be low enough as is.

Yeah maybe so but I don't want to get it put all together and wish I would have put 4.7's in. But the extra money I would save could be put towards redoing my suspension...

When are you gonna get some trail time?

I knkw my buddy has just a 4.7 case and its plenty. Which if you wanted to just do 4.7s then that would save you some coin on stuff too. What are your axles geared?

Jamboree weekend a couple of the guys in my club will be riding Sunday morning.

Yeah that is true. I'm picking up Andy's t-case from his new 4Runner so I could put the 4.7's in that. I just don't know if I want to lose the 2.28. I've read a bunch of posts of people wishing they had their 2.28 bolted up with the 4.7's because its too low for general 4x4 needs.

Where at? Are you in TTORA or ONSC?

It's at Uwharrie, club I'm in is Carolina Trailblazers. That's is one of my buddy's complaints with his 4.7 case buts he's running 5.29s and 33s so he is way over geared at the moment.

Sweet that will be fun. I'll be out there in a few weekends. Post back here on the trail conditions.

Yeah that would be a bitch. I still have the stock 4.10 gears at the moment. I don't plan on going up in tire sizes until I wear out my 33's so regearing is future mod.

Stop modding your Tacoma and start modding the 82' lol

Thanks man I love my old 4Runner. I don't see them often and people stare at me going down the road. Most of the time I can't tell if that's a good thing or bad thing haha

5.29's. I am up in the air about 35"s and 37"s but that gear ratio will work for both tire sizes.

37s will probably take alot of challenge out of some of the places around here. 35s is a good happy medium for the wheel base of the 4Runner's.

Exactly on the 37's. I don't want to just cruise through all the trails, I still like having a challenge.

Plus 35s are a little cheaper and will be easier on parts. A toy axle will handle the 37s but they aren't bullet proof.
