"Also, if i put just the metal in there, it falls out or will not light up at all."

That's why you gently pry the metal tabs inside of the socket toward each other. This will then put pressure on the pins from the bulb as they are thinner than the contacts on the OEM bulb. Just a little pressure with a pick, small knife, small screwdriver or nail file- hell, even pushing a toothpick in there will do it.

It did go in just past the glass on mine. Kind of "clipped" in for me.

Look at my pic for reference. I only had to bend in socket tabs slightly to get a good fit.

The only thing i am skeptical about is how secure it is in the socket. Before i screwed the whole tail light back in, i disconnected it from the truck and shook the hell out of it.......the 886 bulb seemed to not even move. So i will leave them in until such a time i occur an issue

I left them on for four minutes straight and they don't seem to get any hotter than the stock bulbs. I just wish they fit in the socket better lol.

You are not using an 886. You are using a yard light. 1 886 costs what you paid for 10, plus you have to dissect them.
