thats probably the lift you want to be running. full coil overs will give you 3" of lift (which is the optional amount) and give you great travel. I would change a few (a lot) of things on the lift though because you said you had the budget to do it pretty good. Instead of just an add a leaf (just putting a new leaf in the stock pack) i would spend the extra cash and get an all new leaf lack that will give you about 3-4" of rear lift. Then because of that extra lift the 5100s will be too short so you should get some 5150s or something of that nature.

You gotta break that down for me.. the ultimate lift kit gives 3" of lift, so getting a new leaf pack would add what bennifit?

The 2 attachments are what i would like to go for VISUALLY, now what goes into it performance(type of lift etc) is what im looking to mess with. i think the silver may be 2 high, if so, the red?

the silver one looks like a 6", so you will be in the area of the red one. The lift you get with the kit is different for the back and the front. The coil overs are going to give you 3" of lift in the front but the add a leafs will only give you 2" in the back. One reason you would want a brand new leaf pack is it will give you more then 2". Because the back is a solid axle you can lift it sky high (reasonably) without any real consequences like you have on all of the IFS parts. So you can get 3-4" out of the back no problem, so why not. An all new upgraded leaf pack will also give you a lot better flex and shock absorption and travel over the stock pack with an AAL. The AAL is not always a permanent fix, becuse it is supporting the stock pack it will wear down too. You will get more life out of an all new pack than the stock one.

    TRD Sport, solid axel?

And all of that makes sense. I did not know that when you buy a "kit" that it would leave the truck with 1 inch lower in the rear.

Learned a lot today. I just got all mixed up when all the posting of coil overs and expo packs got posted.

is that something i would buy in conjunction with a lift kit? Or i would buy it instead of a lift kit

ya, the rear is a solid axle.

you have to look a the details of the lift of course and see what each option is and what each part gives you. If you figure out what you want its better to mix and match parts instead of buying a full kit.

You will want to buy the stuff separate so you can get the set up to match what you want. From here you can start researching and see what specific brand/items you want.

285/70/17 was what i was going to choose, that was closest to eye candy comfort as i could get, would the 16s(ignoring cost of tires, i know 17s are expesnsive) be more suited for me? this is a daily driver i will be doing casual off-roading with...I still make payments on the truck, not really planning on going out and really roughing it up hard any time soon,, just the occasional non-damaging stuff

And i feel like i get carried away when people post more expensive stuff, maybe not know that this isnt going to be a pure off-road every weekend vehicle. just when i can find the time 6-12 times a year i would do it
