do you have the capability to air test it to see where the leak is actually coming from? i would say bring it to my work and i could fix it in no time, but i think the air force wouldnt like you doing that. i dont have much work anyway, would atleast give me something to do. my hydraulic shop is SLOW!!!!

Man :(. Id take ya up on that if the airforce didnt mind!

Im about 99% sure the seal is the source. Its at the top of the oil drip. And logically makes sense :)

Anyone know of an auto tranny from a first gen Tacoma or 3rd gen 4runner for sale? Preferably less than 120k miles? Talked to my Toyota guru (has been working in Kendal's mechanic shop for 30 years) and he says it's an actual wiring problem with tranny and replacing the parts the obd2 is calling for won't fix it, so I'm looking to replace it. And I'm cool with waiting for you to finish you're rig, here soon we will be havin snow runs (was snowing at my place this morning)

anyone changed out wheel bearings? had them look at it at JTS and they said my left one was getting noisy (kinda what i had been worrying about) and they want like $600 to replace it (because it's a whole unit not just the bearing). wondering if i could save on the 3.6hrs of labor... might also tie my 90k maintenance into it too if its a doable project

Just changed both of my front ones. It was Cheeper to buy used spindles because my ball joints were bad and so on, and the used ones came with almost brand new ball joints as fairly new bearings. And it is true they are a solid unit but aslong as they are not drinking yet then you can have new ones pressed in for 50 bucks from gtf in anchorage.

I had to take my bearing off to do my front diff seal a few weeks back. Other than the 35 mm bolt torqued to 175 lb, its pretty easy. Use a breaker bar with a long cheater bar and a lot of mucles to get er off. :D and 90k isnt too bad to do! Took me a couple hours to knock it out
