Ok I'm new here. But I'm at my wits end on this 1.
I have a 95 Tacoma with a 3RZ engine, the cam shaft bearing went out so I swapped motors. It had an after market security system on it so it wouldn't crank. I removed the security system and it started as ran great. Killed and started it 10 more times worked perfect. Went to take it home it wouldn't start. Started reading on here it has no spark and not fueling. I read the crank shaft sensor going bad would cause that, I changed that sensor it's the same thing. Any suggesting would be great

Double checked all fuses? Try and swap the EFI fuse with a different circuit's fuse of equivalent amps.

Check all your grounds carefully, the ones on the intake plenum especially

The ground on my intake was loose after I removed it to performed a compression test. Sometimes it wouldn't start, sometimes it would run then die. Once we found the loose ground, she was back up and running.

There are a couple grounds on the engine, I know the intake and I saw one on the back end of the motor against the front of the cab. Maybe there are more?

There's one big one near the bottom of the engine to the left of the starter if you're looking in from the wheel well. There's probably more but you'll need a wiring diagram to definitively find them all.

Checked all the grounds they are good. I have a check engine light on when the key is pulled out?

something is screwy with the wiring if you have a check engine light while the key is out. see if there are any exposed wires or shorts to ground at the diagnostic port that is screwed to the intake plenum

I had a similar CEL when my ground wasn't secure. My temperature gauge also spikes without the key on. Sounds electrical!
