    Anyone own a shrockworks bumper? I was just wondering how they pull this off?(the plug for the controller) I cant afford this high end bumper... :)

    Small lift and a topper!
    That wouldn't be an issue at all, an easy DIY project.

    The controller plug on your winch control box is just riveted on, you would drill out the rivets, and cut the 3 or 4 wires that connect the plug to the interior of the controller (probably a green, a black and a white wire).

    Make some extensions to that cable with butt splices and automotive wire, and run the plug to the new location. Drill a hole with a hole saw, and rivet or screw the plug coupler to the new location!

    Ok sounds good. Still waiting on funds to get a bumper coming. Still gotta find a place to mount control box though right? Ideally I'd like mine under hood if the plug was easily accessible like the picture shown.

    Small lift and a topper!
    Still meaning to post some pictures, keep forgetting to take some! My controller box is mounted under the hood, in the open area (assuming you don't have ABS) in the corner closest to the passenger side door. You'll need extended cables, of course. I recommend Polar Wire (polarwire.com), which is super flexible, heat and cold resistant, oil resistant, etc. Popular in renewable energy and machine shops. They sell by the foot online, and have good crimp lugs too.

    I used about 10 feet to get from the winch to the control box, then around the firewall and over to the battery. It was pretty close though, I would probably do 12 feet per run next time to give myself a little more flex room.

    I have an in-cab control (homemade, in the style of 12voltguy.com), which taps into the three control wires in the box, so I didn't relocate my control plug. At some point in the future I will probably relocate the control plug as well, just for added flexibility. Not sure where yet, either the top of the bumper, or possibly the side of the fender.

    Here are some pics as promised. I had one minor problem when installing the foglights. I had to trim about a 1/2" inch off of the bottom of the adjustable bracket to get the foglight to go lower. It was no big deal, I just thought I would let yall know.
