yupz. while I took the throttle body off and had part of the intake off I found that excuse to clean it. Cleaned the throttle body too, it was disgusting. But, being a northern truck and having that many miles on it and probably never being changed, it's expected I suppose.

Did you have the battery disconnected during all of this?

Yepper. Always when unplugging and messing with sensors & stuff. Plus the IAT wire bein messed up threw a code, so I kept it off for almost a week and it cleared the code.

Just curious... have you been in to have your frame inspection yet?

Not on this truck. But I had a 98 x-cab that they bought back for $12k, 140k miles, it was in excellent condition except the frame. I'm still kicking myself for not swapping motors into my tacoma, hahh.

The frame on this truck is surprisingly good for the amount of miles it has on it and the fact that it's been a Northern truck for its whole life, plus playin' in the mud and mud bogs...

WOW! Good to hear it's clean... so many trucks from the northeast are failing the inspections... Just didn't want to see you go through all this hassle if the frame was about to fail. sounds like you are moving in the right directions! Good Luck!

sometimes in my 99 if i have my a/c on and come to a stoplight, when the compressor kicks in, my truck kinda jumps forward if you dont have the brakes pressed down hard......probably not your problem, but i thought i would throw in my .02

I don't want to start a new thread, but the truck won't idle when it's cold, I have to turn the idle up for it to actually idle. and when it warms up and i'm able to turn it down it still idles at 2,000RPM

    I'm gettin' aggravated now, lol

This really seems like a problem with you MAF. And which the surging, it seems like a rich issue. Do you throw any codes?
