Ughhh I really want to! Hopefully I can find duplicolor locally so I don't get screwed again!

Haha it's only ugly because of the bumper. The 98-00 looks great with an aftermarket bumper! If I needed an offroad bumper I would've gone that route but since I don't, decided to do this. Thanks!

Still don't know how you did that. The 01-04 bumper I got didn't even come close to fitting my 98

I'm going to have to figure that out soon. The one I bought came with the sub bumper/ support bar thing and a couple other brackets so hopefully I can get it

Yeah, we've spoke before about that & unless theres some weirdly different bracket config in '98 I don't get it either...

Started working on the bumper. I took the old one off and it fits right in place? :notsure: It seemed that all the holes lined up too.

But I took the bumper apart because the chrome on the bumper was really rusted. A member gave me his old chrome piece that was painted black awhile ago so I stripped that of the paint and made it shiny chrome again. Will put it back together when I color match it. Hopefully soon when I get some sig funds

Also, how do I go about painting the bumper? What grit sandpaper? Then prime, paint and clear?

The 01-04 bumper fit right in place on your 2000?

Either Viking Brett's bumper was jacked up or something is different on my 98... which I doubt because I'm pretty sure the 98-00 are identical in most ways.

Yeah It did actually. But I had to piece together two bumpers because the chrome piece that came with the bumper, the part where it attaches close to the fender was all bent and screwy.

I didn't bolt it up but the holes lined up so I'm pretty sure it will work well. But will see for sure after I paint it

I know my 00 was in the last batches rolled out before they switched front ends so maybe some have the correct holes? I never tried it but that could explain it I guess

    Ditch the OEM bumper.
Go Shrock Works like I did.

The bumper totally accents the Lunar Mist color that you have... and me too!

That is a really nice bumper!

I would go plate bumper but lack of funds, not 4x4 (have locker but don't off road), and OEM gets better gas milage as a DD makes me can't get one.

That might be true! Would be the only explanation between a 98 and 00. My mock up looked right, but I guess we will see once actual bolts go in

Woohoo! Emailed duplicolor about how I received silver metallic and not lunar mist. Silver metallic is BTY1530 while Lunar mist is BTY1602. When I ordered off Amazon for the 1602 I got 1530 and now 1.5 years later they are sending me the right color! YES!
