Selection at any heater position causes noise (humming like) from seemingly behind the dash. Seeing as many related threads indicate a blower motor issue, I disconnected blower motor but the noise remained. Any theories?

both a/c and heater. since no power to blower motor, balance should not be an issue.

my mistake, the noise only occurs if the a/c button is on and after positioning the lever.
