Yes. I actually would have gone with that but wanted the direct vband to downpipe connection to avoid clearance issues against the firewall. Just sayin, smaller wheels spool faster too.

I know smaller wheels sling faster. But the tighter exhaust housing on the same turbo would make it even faster. That was my point.

    And it's avalible.

Id be willing to bet cxracing can make it v band too. But who knows.

Got to send my methanol controller back in for repair/replace. Under warranty. Kept pumping nonstop for some reason??? Might have hooked it up wrong. All turbo lines are leak free. Having overflow diff oil coming out of the front passenger side axle I pulled. Prolly filled it up too high.

Have to blow up the auto first. Why do you think I got a turbo in the first place?

Cx racing's customer service has impressed me personally. To each his own. I broke a vband, called in, and was sent two almost immediately to my door. They swapped out my charge pipes even though I had cut one of them. And took back my turbo for another one like 3 months later. I respected them, and got the same back. Yes, you may have to call several times, they are busy doing their jobs too. Anyway, just my FYI on CX.

Got new plugs and wires. Truck stalled out on freeway. Previous owner had 80k on plugs. Truck is running now. Putting in aem fic 6 today. Getting a bov, 8psi spring, fuel pressure regulator, and 440cc injectors unless someone really recommends bigger 550 ones. Also putting in walbro 255 soon.

Bought 440cc injectors, $189 shipped. You need to upgrade your fuel pressure regulator along with the rest of the fuel system. The stock fpr is tiny and will restrict the delivery of fuel. Fpr's are only $25 on ebay. Putting in the walbro 255lph high pressure pump soon. I decided to have the piggyback installed by someone who has done many of the aem fic installs. Gave me a good price on an install and tune.

No need to change the Toyota's FPR. They are the same FPR used on the Supra and deliver pretty good numbers.

Yeah I have heard of very few people who had problems with their stock FPR in high(ish) boost conditions. I wouldn't mess with it.

    The thing seems tiny.

    :notsure:

The guys that race all kinds of stuff at bandamier recommend it. Already on its way. Im not disagreeing with your findings either way.

Toyota's FPR is very good. Careful you don't get one that is worse.

Yea I wouldn't touch it. Gadget says to leave it.

Unless you are going for 15+psi in which case you have a hell of a lot more to worry about then the fpr.

For the bottom end, crank, con rods, and pistons are all cast IIRC. You can get a Forged crank from the 3Z-FE IIRC (Camry 3.0L engine). Still a very stout engine but to get serious power, lower needs to be built. Def want stronger head bolts.

Top end is 100% designed for low end torque (hence the low redline). The 5VZ is an overbore design (bigger bore than stroke) so it should be capable of much more RPM's, however, power is restricted primarily bythe cam's/valves. A built top end will net much more top end power right off the bat NA or not. The intake runners are also designed for low end torque. A better designed intake with shorter runners will help top end power.
