That works too. But if its your flange, will have to do an exhaust leak. Im guessing 1st: Flange and 2nd: BOV

The bov was cheap. $40 ebay thingy. It worked good for a month or so, and still releases. Maybe it cant handle boost pressure and had cheap seals. Might have just gave out too. Didn't think about that. That would make sense for the reason that only when boost builds does it make noise. No other time. Not even revving the engine high. Only when psi starts registering.

Once I have this taken care of this I was going to put in my bigger injectors and fic6. I thought about taking the truck to a tuner shop and getting a good whole system tune and 3 dyno runs. It's $1k. Ouch. Is it worth it or can I easily tune everything my self on a laptop. I have no idea what to do but maybe the software makes it easy.

Is the "manifold up pipe" not the intake manifold?
*EDIT: oh duh, you guys are talking about the exhaust flange. Nevermind.
That in mind, there is pressure constantly between the turbo and the engine in the exhaust, so I doubt that it would make noise only at and above 0 psi on the boost gauge.
I had a couple boost leaks that I had to fix, one was a tiny hole in a coupling and the other was a leaky upper intake manifold gasket (the oem one that consists of two pieces of sheet metal). I filled the hole on the coupling and that got rid of the majority of the noise, but after I took out the stock intake gasket and replaced it with a bead of silicone, it never made a noise again. I've never heard of an exhaust leak squealing like a slipping serpentine belt. My squeal started at exactly 0-1 psi as well.
Josh, you don't need load to build boost. Your size of turbo should give you positive boost just by manually turning the throttle cable /blade quickly under the hood while you're standing there... mine does.

If you are running bigger injectors, you might want to have a professional do the tuning. $1k is steep. Around here its about $4-500.
Which is why I'm thinking BOV. But it could still be the exhaust flange. Yes, there is generally a pos pressure at most times, but it might take a certain pressure to cause the air leak :notsure:

No, it doesn't touch into the boost area at all even when I redline it without load on it. Im seeing that this thing could be anywhere in the engine bay. Never thought the manifold gasket would be a place to look.

Interesting yours started at 0-1 psi too

Yeah, I'm going to bring it to a professional tuner. I'd be there for months trying to get a good tune. Haha.

Yeah, tuning larger primaries on the 5VZ isn't easy. Have Gadget's phone number on hand (URD) as he knows more about tuning the 5VZ than most.

Bringing her to the pros tomorrow. Like you said Chris getting a diagnostic. While I'm at it they are hopefully going to put in the 420 injectors, boomslang, aem fic-6, valve cover seals while they are down there, tune the fic, and do some dyno runs. If and when all is said and done, I will post the dyno runs.

    Even though it's turbo boosted........

    FB_IMG_1442542583664.jpg

Then it will be off to the races on installing the LT kit up front first. I want to make sure that all my engine stuff is squared away before I move on to anything else.

I want to see that Solo kit go on. If those boxed 4x4 spindles dont look right, I am ready to put them on my truck:)

Me too. I'm concerned because of the magnitude of the project and a whole crap ton of parts going on and off. Will be an adventure!

Rather not say for now......:spy:, I already don't like leaving my vehicle with strangers. And it feels like something is missing when I go home. Trust me when I say I will keep you in the loop.

Curious how your tuning goes. Any type of power goals you are looking to hit?

Not sure man. I was thinking 300hp and maybe more torque. I'm going to have it tuned for 10psi with the piggyback and maybe more if i throw in the meth. Another member on here is running 17psi with just meth (25-27 gph dual nozzles). So I just want a good solid power tune to start off and maybe work up from wherever. Eventually I'd like 400ft lbs and call it good. I've seen it done relatively easily, dynoed out.

I talked to the tuner shop and we came to an agreement. Most of this stuff I can do myself, however, at this point I have done sooooh much work on her in the last year it's not even funny, that I'm willing to let someone else do it. Plus I have no idea how to do fuel trim, air, etc. maps with a piggyback. With that being said, I am getting the 42lb injectors put in. While the plenum is off replacing my valve cover seals (leaking bad), all the accompanying rubber seals, and spark plugs. The fic is getting installed. My LCE clutch and flywheel will be put on. And I will be getting a full dyno tune to include my methanol, ebc, and failsafe. Finally dyno runs......on a freshly tuned dyno (dyno is getting tuned this week, ill be the first one on it after the tune)......and the numbers say.....
