Full boost by 3k is better than me. I'm full boost at 3800.

IIRC, the TRD S/C safely tops out at ~300 RWHP so I would say 300 to the wheels is the max.

Unofficially the 5VZ crank HP numbers are:
    -500 if your crazy
-400 if you have a spot on tune
    -300 is ok

    I don't plan on much over 300.

Thanks! Trying to put together a list and see how everything will work together. I really would want to take on the project to turbo my 5vz in the future, when I have the money to spend. Sure would learn alot from doing it I bet.

Make sure you factor in a custom exhaust. They don't make 3" cat back exhausts for the Tacoma.

Ya got that, pretty sure we can weld stainless, so shouldn't be an issue.

Nice..... I think it's silly to go above 300 WHP on a stock engine.
I just timed my 0-60 again the other day and I'm right around or barely above 7 sec @ 4-5 psi stock everything (else besides the turbo), and that was with the camper shell (I have a vid... don't know if/when I'll post it). I think right around 300 WHP and whatever psi it took to get there with a good tune would be more than acceptable for a 3400 lb small truck.

Well, I do have a 255 walbro fuel pump in there but everything else is stock. I was runnin 2 step colder iridium plugs, but they didn't last long at all so I'm back to stocker dual ground NKG's

Think I may just skip out on getting bigger injectors and colder plugs and just limit the boost to 5psi then, run that for awhile when I do a turbo setup. Can you go one step cooler? Where they fouling because they were too cold?

Yeah of course... one or two steps colder for turbo and 2 or 3 steps colder fro SC. The plugs didn't foul, but there is a tiny iridium wire where the anode stud would be on a typical spark plug and those straight up burnt up to the point where the spark gap was way huge on some of the plugs and not others. I started getting a misfire and two of the anodes were reduced to just little nubs barely sticking out of the ceramic case. I don't plan on messing with anything other than stock plugs unless I go over 300 HP (which I'm not). If I could do it all over again, I would have saved up all the money necessary to do EVERYTHING correct at one time with the right fueling and a professional tune. I still struggle to keep it in out of closed loop boost (part throttle boost) which is a huge PITA because it runs lean until it goes into open loop. It's hard to control sometimes and that's the biggest reason I say that

Never was. I had it installed but it wasn't hooked up to any controller. It's staying off until I can afford to hook it all up right and get it tuned at 8-10 psi

Since I never messed with a front axle shaft before. I'll most likely hit you up to lend me a hand when I get the tundra axles.

I still have to grind mine down. It looks super easy. Just grind down the flanged part on the inner portion. Also the LT guys recommend Porsche 930 cv boots to go on the inside. (About $25) Boots prevent premature perforation of the inner cv due to the increased angle.

Picked up proportioning valve from jegs. (Adjusts rear to front brake bias %)

Prepping the rear axle.....lots of work ahead on that thing. (T-100. 66 wms) Keeping the drum brakes as recommended by like everyone (vs. discs), and going to start with new drums and shoes.
