Sounds good. Looks like it spools pretty well. The boost plot is pretty flattened out from how they plotted it.

Your biggest issue is the turbo is too big. If you had a smaller turbo it would fit the motor much better. Looking at compressor maps, a 50mm inducer is best on the turbine with a 70ishmm on the turbine. .58 or lower than .60 A/R on the turbine with a T3 housing.

Have max boost at 2200-2500 with that turbo..before an EBC..

People have run bigger turbos on 4 cylinder engines. On a 3.4L I feel it is fine for me. I am happy with how it stands. Yes, you are and have been correct about the smaller turbo spooling faster and quite possibly being better suited. I additionally have availability for more power down the line which I may end up doing. More exhaust flow = bigger turbo in my book. Id love to get a standalone, bigger injectors, and build the top end to push 500hp. Then a smaller turbo would be lacking. I am more than happy with how it drives right now, and that is what is important to me.

I think too if I can even fine tune this ebc for more immediate power. If I floor it in first gear without even dropping the clutch I am spinning the tires for days.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Going to have to build the bottom end as well to reach 500hp. I think 400 is about the limit the bottom end can take but I think at your current tune, you are already there if you can open up the top end a bit with new cams.

I would get a second 5VZ and build it on the side if I were you. Depending on my employment in the future, I'm looking to either build a second 5VZ or drop 25k in a diesel conversion.

I used the GT3076R on my girlfriend's 2.0 Genesis Coup. Spooled very quickly once I dialed in the start boost, on her Greddy Profec BII boost controller. Otherwise it was quite laggy.

You engine has quite a bit more litre. You're golden. Just need to get the B.C. dialed in.

Plus you still have room to grow on this turbo.

Pretty sure it's 7 (tial), I'm running around 12psi. I want to video another hard pull and see exactly where everything's at. Thanks for your above comment too. Reinforces what I've been thinking from the get-go of this turbo build.

    I know what you're doing. ;)

Where do you have the "spring pressure" set to for the solenoid?

I'll have to look. Pretty sure it's set super low. Like 1.8 or something. The lower I go the higher the psi. Also it will flash a % with a number in boost. Like 14%. And sometimes it will start clicking too. After work I'll go home and take some pics or get readings. Plus take a couple boost vids to watch the gauges.

Hey TC, sick truck dude, where are you at in CO? If you're looking for hands for the LT install I might be willing to chip in. I'm very curious of the quality of that Solo kit. The kit looks amazing but I haven't seen many on the forums, let alone any reviews. I'm kinda on the fence between it and the MCM kit. And just for the record, I have no experience with these kits what-so-even and am kind of a novice in general to 4x4 modifications.

Good to hear because that's my plan. I'll just make absolute sure the welds are good. No popcorn mounting things. Wouldn't do that anyway but I just need to ensure they are right and take my time with them.

You dudes need a mig welder.

    :)

Even a smaller miller/lincoln 140 with gas will weld .120-.1875 thick no problem.

My stick is 220V. Yes, I wish I had a mig though too.
