Personally I think it'd be easier to sell it and buy a 4wd but I guess if you're up to a project haha

That would be no fun. Plus I could show up with a prerunner badge but I'm 4x4 haha. How many people can say my truck used to be 2 wheel drive, but now it's 4x4? Plus the way my truck looks, which isn't pretty, I'd be lucky to get a decent price for it. It would cost about a grand for a paint job, and if I got one it would make the truck look almost brand new

To each their own! Haha it sounds like an awesome project just more then what id want to take on. If I were you I would buy a prerunner badge and slap it on a 4wd truck. Nobody would ever know  actually they probably would but shhh...

Hahaha, yeah, just look for CVs or nutton. So I need a new driver side wheel bearing. Gonna get both sides from http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...ub-solution-ive-done-work-you-save-money.html. good prices and easier than replacing just bearing. Driver side should be covered byy accident insurance because I'm gonna say it was caused by the accident. May get a new driverside front diff. bearing from ECGS to fix the common drive line vibes you get when lifting a second gen

I kinda read through what you guys posted but I don't think a conversion is all to hard apart from finding the front differential and the parts needed. Did you know going into it that you wanted a 4x4?
Yeah but unless you have WiFi its expensive.
YOU KNOW WHAT!?!? I WAS JUST IGNORING YOU! ;)

Yeah parts really is the hardest to find. Other the that it's just bolting everything up. I wanted a 4x4, but I really just needed a truck, and the prerunner was a good deal

Yeah some companies don't let you. At&t work good though
A crash one would probably be the easiest. Okay I see yeah most people don't need 4x4 especially if you live in the south

I had a chance. A 2003 wrecked and he was 4x4 with the rear locker. Just no money to take the drivetrain

Do those work even though they don't have manual hubs? They have to right? How much was it selling for?

Swap the whole drive line, not just front diff/transfer case and such? I think that's what he was talking about.

Turns out I'm goin to senior prom after all, anyone else?

You talking about the e-locker? It locks internally, there's a magnet inside that pulls on something and it locks the 2 axles together in the rear. He was gonna sell the whole truck for $3500. I was gonna get the axle for $600 but I have no funds. The only thing he has left is the axle, he put it in storage hoping someone wants it eventually
