My local toyota dealer is telling me to use 75-90 gear oil in my transmission. Yet, I kinda don't trust them. I am finding other places that say things like GL-4 and GL-5. Can anyone help me clarify if I have gotten the right info from dealer?

GL4 and GL5 are oil specifications. GL5 superseded GL4 some time ago. the only difference is GL5 is an extreme pressure oil rated for hypoid gears. just use 75-90 GL5 gear oil. it does everything GL4 does and then some.
