Hey folks. What’s the best 9mm platform in a pistol length or mid length “rifle?” I need a cheaper to shoot battle gun than my current options of .223, 7.62 and 300blk. Considering options like AR-9, Scorpion, MP5, MPX, etc. budget: can’t exceed $900, but I prefer to buy lightly used guns for cost effectiveness. Thanks for the insights.

I love my Scorpion. The GHM-9 caught my eye too, but I already had the scorpion. Plus with Magpul adopting it into the portfolio, the CZ wins for me. Plus with twin sticks on a mag clap, it lets you get your "HK Slap" rocks off without the pricetag.

I would stay away from the cheap MP5 clones, but if you dd want to ball out, the SP5 is a sweet piece.

thanks for the insight. Magpul making stuff for the scorpion is always a good sign. Can you please translate “twin sticks with a mag clap?” It sounds somewhat sexual, but I could be wrong

You can clamp your 30 rounders together for a convenient 60 rounds. On the MP5, its the classic counter-terror look when you add a navy stock and a flashlight forearm

Subd for ideas... I too am getting into the 9mm PCC space. My purpose is more-so to use as a “truck gun” and I wanna keep it real small and light...

I’m liking the keltec sub 2000 more and more everyday, esp with the midwest red dot mount.
But I also like an AR platform, maybe with a 7-8in barrel.

What’s the shortest (yet still collapsible/adjustable) pistol brace they make that’s NOT a blade?
Trying to avoid the extra $200 for a law folder...

I can say an MP5 tucks perfectly between the seat and the center console.

The PDW style SB braces are pretty compact.

They really are nice little carbines. Pretty clear Beretta spent a lot of time on the design and features...things like being able to take it apart, then reassemble it for left or right handed shooters. (everything is reversible)

By the way, Beretta sells 30 round magazines for it.

You can't even touch a HK-94 for less than $2K these days.

Honestly, I'd look for a .300blk upper for an existing AR, or get yourself a decent Glock 17/34 for that money.

I've been looking into the MeanArms EndoMag (https://www.meanarms.com/products/detail/endomag-9mm).
Get a 9mm upper for the AR. Use your regular mag pouches and muscle memory of regular 556 mags. No need for a mag block, just a conversion upper.

Otherwise, the scorpion is probably best overall option.

Best is completely subjective. But to get into a sub-$1k reliable 9mm with good aftermarket support and inexpensive mags, a scorpion is a very solid option.

Given the price constraint, I'd agree the CZ is the best option you could get. Although if you knew how to weld, and had a press, the MP5 parts kits might be tempting.
