Uh, ok then. Just trying to help you out man, although I'm not sure why you'd even mention MPX, MP5 etc. if you refuse to budge over $900. I also think you're getting a bit too hung up on the barrel threading, considering you have more customization options in every other category ie. grip, stock, triggers, etc. not to mention way better ergos. Nothing complicated about MPX either - it's basically an AR, but if you're set on a Scorpion have at it. Not my 1st choice but still perfectly decent sub gun.

I wouldn't use "recoil" in the same sentence with "9mm carbine." There just isn't much recoil in any of these options.

Totally, that’s my feeling as well, but people seem to get all worked up about the recoil of direct blow back 9mm PCCs. I shoot high caliber rounds regularly.

Because smoother recoil impulse = faster follow up shots.

ALL 9mm blowback AR's recoil MORE than 5.56 AR's. Not an opinion, this is factual. Inherent to the direct blowback system.
But we're not referring to recoil as you would the recoil of a magnum caliber that causes pain... more recoil from the 9mm blowback is referenced so often because it limits how quickly you can shoot the platform accurately. You can stay on target much easier and shoot much faster with a 5.56 chambered AR.

The barrel threading is irritating, I had my barrel chopped and re-threaded. ZR tactical does a great job for $100.
But your other point of a "complicated system" I'm confused by. It's literally a couple of op-rods with springs on them for a recoil system. No more complex than any AR.
If it's not for you it's not for you, but as I said before the MPX is by far my favorite PCC and I've had them all. I think the only thing that will touch it will be the MP5 but I admit that will probably be more from cool factor than actual performance.

I'd you looked at it somewhat scientifically, the 223 has about 3x more recoil energy then 9mm (energy=1/2 bullet mass x velocity ^2 /rifle mass). But comparing them side by side the recoil impulses are different.
223 has most of the felt recoil from the bullet launching because of the locked bolt. 9mm has the felt recoil from the bolt assembly knocking into the end of the buffer tube. So the felt recoil on an AR9 will be very mild because it's going right into the shoulder.
On dedicated 9mm guns (mpx, cz, etc) the bolt stops just above the pistol grip so the felt recoil impose is different.
Playing with bullet weights, buffer weigh, springs and muzzle devices will effect felt recoil.

Dude, NSFW NSFW NSFW!!! You can't be posting hot ass gun porn like that on here. Check the forum rules.

With that being said, this picture was not my proudest fap.

I disagree, nearly 100%. The AR9 has much more felt recoil.
The combination of the drastically heavier carrier, and the most rudimentary of operating systems equate to much more recoil. I've own over 100 AR's, nearly a dozen AR9's. Unless you have a more sophisticated operation (gas operated MPX, roller delayed blowback MP5) perceived and felt recoil of the 9mm AR platform will always be more than its 5.56 counterpart.

    Don't worry. Still single. ;)

And if the girlfriend gets mad, well I'll just break up with her. I don't need that sort of negativity in my life.

agreed that it's no more complicated than any AR, that being said, simpler and less parts is usually better in my mind.

It is quite accurate with just the iron sites.
Not any more “bulky” than others mentioned here.
Plus, it’s a take down, so it can be stored and transported in a smaller case.

The base version can be found for under $500. Considerably less that most of the others mentioned.

If there are any other Aero Precision fans I'm pretty excited for their new AR9 to be released, I like the bolt hold open feature that it has over some of the other brands and it won't break the bank

Ok @scifidelity , I am going to throw you for a real loop. And it is under $900, and extremely reliable. A full size S&W M&P 2.0 9mm with a Micro conversion Kit. This is mine and you can add a red dot on the top, it is very accurate and stupidly comfortable, and breaks down for easy storage and hand use. Btw, it sits solid in the frame when put in. Doesn't budge a mm.20180815_065219.jpg20191205_185600.jpg
