So my blower motor on my 2007 quit working. I heard a faint tapping noise coming from it for a few weeks which would come and go. I checked the filter and fan for debris but it was clean. The motor will come on if you give it a few light tape from underneath. I found a replacement on Amazon and was curious if I should also get the resistor or just the new fan?

If I'm not mistaken the resistor isn't that much. Why not replace it while your under there.

Resistor is probably fine but if it is cheap and simple it wont hurt to replace. I replaced the resistor in my 02 and it didnt make a difference (was on original one still)

Check the plug in the passenger footwell against the firewall first. If mine wiggles loose or someone pushes my floormat up then the blower motor will quit working.

i just did this. the hardest part was dumping all the crap my wife puts in my glove box. how many fast food restaurant napkins does one need anyways?

after that it was about 10 minutes. i used a tiny flat blade screwdriver to push the button on the electric fastener.

Is there a guide anywhere for this. Or is it literally as easy as the resistor? Figure I'll just need to drop the glove box and take out a few screws and I'll be done. Any info would be great. I plan on replacing my motor today.

Worked perfectly fine. There's an updated model you should buy though. Let me check my history and I'll get you the part number.. I can't seem to find it, but yes, I replaced the resistor and the motor and been fine ever since.

That was over 2 years ago. Still blowing cold air in my truck!
