A click not a clunk not a thud when I apply the brakes

On my 2015 TRD off road I get a click that seems to be coming from the left front wheel when I apply the brakes. Any ideas folks? Thank you in advance.

Yep. They all do it eventually. Back side of the pads needs a little grease.

 

Also the pins that the pads ride on, coat them in silicone brake grease and it goes away until the grease dries up again.

Normal.

 

Thank You so much guys, I'm not mechanic have an appointment at the dealer on Monday but have a long drive on Saturday, do I have anything to worry about other than the click noise? Thank you again

Nothing to worry about. Mine have been clicking for about 3 years now. I even added the second "spring". I'm almost due for new pads - I'll address the issue then.

 

mine would click going forward and reverse when you hit the brake pedal. Pulled the pins and the pads out, wire brushed pins and put a little grease on them, no more noise.

 

Add a second spring is the best you can do about all this. The grease eventually wears off the pins and the clicking reoccurs. It is normal, but I'd rather have fixed pistons rather than floating on a truck like these have so it's all a trade off.

 

Ok last week I went to the dealer showed the fellow that you check your truck in with, and showed him my thread and gearcrunchers post on the thread that was linked off of my thread. All good information, thank you s much people. Well the guys at the dealer said pretty much “that’s just how it is”. I took my truck to my regular mechanic who I haven’t seen in 2 years as I’ve been getting my free oil changes for free, for my 30,000 mile oil change and spark plug replacement. They did what gearcruncher recommended with the NAPA clips. They mentioned there was NO grease or lubricant on the caliper areas. Well no more click! Before I mention the plugs, does anyone hear think I can get reimbursed from Toyota for the brake fix?

The plugs, like myself they were puzzled why there were two different brands of plugs in the truck from the factory. I had platinum plugs installed. Thank you again for all your help.
