So long story short. Bought a 5 lug, really LIKED it. Modded it really LIKED it. BUT, I started obsessing over the damn 3rd Gen. So this morning after about 8 months of ownership I took a loss in the thousands and just bought the truck I LOVE. This thing is awesome and I am going out to drive it again, and yeah if I stayed off of TW i probably would have never bothered and modding the 5 lug or lusting so much over the 3rd Gen. So here it is. Oh yeah, dropped my wife off at airport this morning so she has no idea. Probably will be mildly irritated when I tell her tomorrow morning but she is going to love it too. IMG_20170819_142155.jpg Sport 4x4 MTIMG_20170819_142041.jpg next to the 5 lugIMG_20170819_165936.jpg I hate to be all materialistic but I am 48 and life is short, I'm not rich but I can afford it so what the hell.
Intend on keeping this one for a long while. Going to spend tomorrow on some thick coats of wax to protect this awesome paint. Any suggestions on wax or anything else I should do with my first brand new truck are welcome.

I had a 2004 Tundra in great shape that I bought new and it only had 73k miles on it. I fell in love with the Tacoma and that's all she wrote.

Good luck with the divorce, but it was well worth it.

Yeah she is not even slightly materialistic so she wont be upset about the money but that I bought another vehicle after so short a time but oh well. lol

Exactly! I gave up drinking last year, which I am very happy with that decision, but I tend to be a bit more "energetic" with my decision making these days. if that makes any sense

Yesssss! Tacoma. I do LOVE it!

Seriously, I would just pick her up in it without warning. The beauty of the truck will be worth a thousand words on the phone.

I will. And she is going to love it especially when she sees Baby in the back.IMG_20170819_170742.jpg Baby is my 13 yr old Rottweiler that I have had since 2004 when she was like 3 pounds. She is why I could not join my wife on this trip because she is finicky in her old age. Its really like taking care of an aging grandma. Baby is worth it though.

I've been told not to wax new vehicles until after a few months. The paint and clear needs time to harden.

That's just what I was told, FWIW

Nice truck! As far as recommendations on wax...none. The duration of wax isn't worth it on a daily driver. Get a nice polymer sealant. Chemical guys makes a great one that is supposedly made for reds. It's called V7.

You will probably be okay. Unless you start having problems with 3rd Gen. I wouldn't let her on TW that could make it worse.

Get the Synthetic Sealant. Its light years ahead of wax.
