Glad you're ok. Seriously invest in snow tires. Muds aren't made for icy pavement even before they're nearly bald like yours look to be. Good rubber would very likely have prevented that. New truck looks sharp though. Good luck on the next build.

Glad you're okay man. Such a shame to see a beautiful clean truck like that get totaled with a long life ahead of it. On to bigger and better things with the new Taco though. Good luck!

    Glad you came out ok.
If you're having traction issues, a few bags of cheap clay cat litter dropped in the bed over the rear axle can work wonders. Soak them down and they basically turn into cement. Then just throw them away when winter ends.(Of course, it works even better with some good tires for snow and ice!) I did it a few years back with a couple hundred pounds of sand bags. I have all season tires, and didn't have any issue even on just ice.

Dang! That was a brutal ride. I had a similar experience 3 months ago. Except mine didn't involve tipping over in the middle of the road or a trip to the hospital. Merely went down the side of a mountain in my 2nd gen bouncing off a few trees on the way is all...lol. Ended up with a new mgm OR MT. "Oh what a feeling"
Looks like your tires finally grabbed a foothold though, albeit sliding long enough on it's side to bend the frame. Frick! Keep the rubber side down from now on.

Sorry about the accident OP, but glad you're okay overall. Enjoy the new rig! It's been a loooong time since I've driven in the snow, maybe 20+ years.

Drive responsibly folks. No way this would have happened had OP been driving an appropriate speed for a road thats covered in snow and ice. Especially considering the amount of tread left on his tires.

Im glad OP is safe and that no one else got hurt. This could have ended a whole lot worse. People get behind the wheel and think they're invincible. Hope they learned from this experience.
