Went out to Apple Valley Farms in Wisconsin today. The conditions were interesting... Still a lot of snow, but a lot had melted. But the constant above freezing/below freezing temps we've had over the last week or so has made a lot of ice. So there were a lot of hills that, in the summer can be climbed in 2wd, we either had a hard time with or couldn't make it at all.

    Anyway, on to the pictures!

    About to head out

    Woods of Wisconsin...

Lining up to take a shot at a rock pile

And no matter how hard I tried, and which lines I tried, I kept getting hung up on my rear diff! And I didn't want to end up like Silverback, so I had to concede this one...

Others had no trouble though, which just pissed me off!

A little trail breakage, but nothing big... Guy just lost his tranny linkage.

Not a very good picture, but this was my favorite trail - called "lost your marbles". Lots of small rocks, real tight trail with some pretty tight turns, but the Taco had NO problems with it!

Here's a video of a guy trying to make it up Wrecked 'Em. This is indicative of the problems we had all day long. We could get 3/4 of the way up most of the hills, then just start sliding around.

And let me tell you that once you lose traction on a hill like this, you just start sliding backward. AT ABOUT 10 MPH! Scary as shit!! If it weren't for the ruts, you'd probably be fubard!

There were two sides to this hill... The one on the left where most everybody tried, was the bypass... The one on the right (with all the dirt) was almost impossible. One guy made it, but he beat the shit out of his rig to do it!

There was a wide variety of vehicles out there. Mostly trail rigs, beaters a few SWEET trail buggies, some slightly modified jeeps, then some very interesting "contraptions"...
