Today I just happened to notice that my A pillars on both sides are becoming shiny looking and sticky. The oh shit handles are not, as they are a different material.

Truck is a 2011, purchased in December of 2010 which makes it about 2.5 years old. I'm wondering if its the plastic starting to break down or something. I've seen this happen to old vehicles where the plastics start to deteriorate and get sticky. It seems weird to me though that this would happen to something not too old.

So I was wondering If any of you guys or gals are experiencing the same thing. None I the other plastics are doing it, just the front 2 pillars. I'm going to try and wash them down and see what happens.

Did you ever use any armor all or any other sort of cleaner/protectant on your dash? That stuff seems to evaporate and get all over the windshield area. Just an idea.

No. I've never used any cleaning products on the dash. Only wet towels.

I am the original owner, nor do I smoke. I washed one side with a wet cloth soaped up with dawn, and that seems to have cleaned it up pretty good.

Just chiming in to confirm sticky A pillars. I've been wondering about it for a while. I haven't tried cleaning them though. Again, non-smoker, original owner, never used anything but a wet microfiber towel on the interior.

I think it's something that comes out of the plastic. Dawn soap and hard scrubbing seemed to work for me. Try it and see what happens.
