I'm sorry to hear that. My prayers go out to you and your family. I was in this situation this past November. In 2004 my dad suffered a stroke and wasn't the same after that. Like your father my dad just went downhill from there. When you're younger you never, ever think anything will ever happen to your dad, almost like he's a super hero. My dad was in the hospital for 10 days until he passed away on November 17, 2010. He was on a ventilator and had a feeding tube to help him. I wasn't able to say my goodbyes and tell him I love him. Cherish every second you have with him. We as human beings are selfish in that we don't want our loved ones to ever leave us, but that is just part of life. My dad suffered a lot his final days. I didn't want to lose him but I prayed to God for him not to suffer anymore. I've never posted on here or replied or anything like that but I felt compelled to reply to your post because I feel in some way it might help you. Whatever might happen I just pray also that you and your family are strong and have faith in the man upstairs that whatever happens, life will resume and we must do everything to make it a little better for ourselves and our loved ones.

You have my deepest sympathies and I send my condolences to you and your family. Remember him for the good times you had .....when he made you laugh, smile, and cry. Celebrate his life and the impact he had on the world around him.

I am so very sorry to hear of his passing and the prayers of my family are with you.
