ahaha so here i am just chillin at school and im confronted by this peron who evidently saw me pull in with my tacoma at the lot and wants to race me all of a sudden. the race hasnt taken place yet. Who would win though stock tundra vs stock tacoma? i kno torque is related to acceleration but look how fat and how much drag a tundra must make. i was thinkin of choosin a place where a photo radar cam is placed and let that person win on purpose just for her to get a speed ticket:devil:.

oh quick question is it illegal to drive with ur truck bed door down since it kinda obstructs ur plate?

It would be safe to say that the cops will overlook the tailgate being down while they are writing all the tickets for the drag racing!:D I dont know of any states where it would be illegal to have the tailgate down, well maybe Cali!

    Why waste your time?

The Tundra has a V8 in it...... Just seems pointless.

If you both had V8's, then that'd be a more interesting challenge.

I'm not condoning street racing at all and don't want you to do it.

Now some people who launch and auto down a track, load up the suspention by pressing down on the gas and stepping on the brake at the same time and just holding it there at that fine point between going and not being able to contain a vehicle.

People that don't know how to launch an automatic just hold the brake down and step on the gas when the light goes green. This doesn't build revs or preload the suspension.

if its the new tundra with teh 5.7 then dont waste your gas. he will smoke you. if its an old tundra or one with the smaller engine, you have a good chance if you are driving the V6 auto

I'm bettin that it will be close but you should go for it regardless. A friend of mine has a 2005 5.3ltr silverado with chip and exhaust. I walk all over this guy every time we line up. maybe my tacoma is just more awesome then everyone else's but you should still do it.

I kinda like the photo radar idea! Just make sure you don't break the speed limit so they can catch you for anything.

    Weight. Just because something has a V8, it doesn't mean it's faster. An F250 with a V8 wouldn't be faster than a V6 Tacoma.

Older Tundra = yes, you'd have a chance. New 5.7 Tundra = don't even bother.

    Don't street race.

I agree, street racing is actually really serious and should not be condoned. I will admit I used to street race, and saw an innocent bystander die at the hands of a racer and stopped. Just don't if you want to drag him go to a strip or something not on public roads.

Phoenix by the way is really cool about this at one of our local tracks they have free drag nights and they put police cruisers in the line so you drag against cops its a good time.

my buddy got a new tundra crewmax TRD with teh 5.7. that truck is amazingly fast for something so huge. i just assumed that due to weight my truck woudl be faster, but when i rode with him and he floored it i realized that my 4.0 would not have a chance. that thing is even fast when he's towing his 6500lb boat. its amazing

If it's the new 5.7 she will spank you and take your lunch money. If it's something less and you're good, refuse to race unless it's for pink slips.

That 5.7 will smoke our 4.0's; the 5.7L tundra beats all full size trucks in the 0-60 except the Ford Lightning if i read correctly in a truck mag.
But our 4.0's due beat some full size trucks:D

lol The point is our 4.0>many domestic V8 trucks, but the Tundra's 5.7>everything else.

I make fat chicks ride in the bed (of my truck, not my other bed) to provide better traction

Hit up youtube/google video for vids of tundra's vs other trucks... Even loaded down with 8,500lb trailers they blow away the competition in 0-60, 60-0, and 0-60-0.

I think for you to win you'd have to be empty while the new tundra is loaded down with a large load!
