As some of you may already know...my clutch is shot :(

    bad

as in when i put it into first and let out the clutch, once it is all the way out...it feels like its still held in partially

    so

of course the dealer wants 1400+ to fix it with all OEM parts too:eek:

so i decided if im gonna have to spend that much money out of pocket (because my Ext. Coverage doesn't cover it) i might as well get a BETTER clutch

    so i found this :D
    http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.php?cPath=9_141&products_id=1260518982
it is a kit from URD with their Stage 3 Clutch kit and their lightened flywheel for a good price packaged together!

and also a great mechanic who has worked on my previous vehicles who will do the job for about 400 bucks

now, my question is...what else do i need apart from this kit? what should i replace while down there that will help prevent future damage or what NEEDS replacing while down there?

names/part numbers/links would be GREATLY appreciated

    thanks you TW's

Im replacing my clutch right now with replacement parts. It might be an obvious answer im not sure. Throw out bearing on mine was shot so I replaced that while I was down there. pilot bearing too.

yeah...i thought about the 2 bearings...im guessing URD doesn't make better ones of those though...because i couldn't find them...i guess i have to go with OEM on those...unless anyone knows of better/performance ones?

how many miles on your truck? my clutch has been feeling really strange lately and i've only got 36k on mine. I have to let it out almost all the way before it grabs and there is a fine line when letting it out that it will either grab or slip entirely. hope its now going out this soon....

I forget where but i was reading that the 4.0 can have a small oil leak on the rear seal of the crank. Look hard for oil when you change your clutch...if the plate isnt worn out but is greasy the seal needs to be replaced or the new friction plate will shit the bed quick.

to relentless: there are about 61k on it...but ive only put about 5k of that on the truck... and my sign started out i would give it about 1/2-3/4 throttle and the revs would shoot up but the truck would only pull foward slightly...and it just got worse and worse...now i can barely get to grab a gear :(

and to Yoytoda, they replaced a crank seal at the dealer fr me when they were looking at the tranny....THAT was covered...ha
