The suspension on my truck is scary-tired. Can't go with the King setup I want at this time, but something has to be done.

After a great deal of reading here on TW, I think I'm ready to send it... but I'd like to get it right the first time (rare thing for me).

    So I'm gonna go with:

    -Bilstein 5100s w/ OME 881 coils (assembled)
-OME Dakar Leaf Pack (with non-greasable OME bushings)
    --No AAL

    Goals:
-2" lift (265/75r16 rubs on many occasion)
    --Maintain factory-ish rake
-Maintain daily drive-ability (city streets, highway/interstate)
-Improve off-road capabilities (again... current setup is done for)
-Factory weight hauling capabilities (nothing crazy... but can't put an exact number to it)

    Questions:

-You think this suspension choice will get the job done?
-If coupled with the OME 881s, which snap-ring location would you recommend for my goals?
-Should I get the extended rear SS brake line at the same time?
-How about extended front brake lines? Necessary?
    -Brake prop-valve relocation. Necessary?
-Grease-able shackles? I live in CO (very dry state).

    Thanks in advance!

I would leave the 5100 on the bottom setting and just let the 881 do the work
    Extend lines never hurt anyone
I hear grease able shakles help with the squaeking.

By bottom, you mean 0? I am opting to have the shop assemble the shocks & coils for me.

You right. I'll probably get the extended line. Less worrying when flexing (haha!), and my brake system needs to be flushed anyway.

    Was it a bundled package?

I was planning on going through HeadStrong. I already sent them an email, asking for their input on the setup.

What about the proportioning valve relocation kit? Looks like a simple bracket... but is it necessary for preservation of the truck?

    Well dayum.

    This makes me hesitate.

That's with the OME nitro charger shocks? Do those have the snap-ring selection? If yes... what setting did you use, and what size are the tires?

Just when I thought it was a done-deal.

AND... How about them CV boots? Not ready to do a boot slide mod just yet. One thing at a time (new-born is kicking my azz).

3.4 6 cylinder. Gotta find that affordably, durable setup. Thought I was set. Guess not.

Nitrochargers don't have adjustable snap rings like 5100s do. I have 5100s and OME 883 coils with a front bumper. Rides great, you won't be disappointed. You can also just go for the nitrochargers with the ome coils. I have buddies with that set up and it rides nice too

Just when I thought I had my mind made up.

Now I'm torn between the Billy/OME881 setup and the full OME setup.

I will measure the driver and passenger sides tonight to see if I need that shim or not.

The truck is mainly daily driven. Would that make a difference in choosing between the two setups?

So i went back and read the posts (instead of just picture surfing) in the 1st gen OME setup thread. I will be going with the full OME setup. Problem now is the coils.

881s seem like the answer but I DO intend to have a tubular front bumper in the future. One like the Trail Gear Rock Defense Low Profile.

If i get a winch, it will be cradled so I can also use it with my other truck. Won't stay mounted to the Tacoma.

Would the 881s still be the choice?

    Decisions!!

I went 880 on the single cab and wish i'd done 881s. The dakars added 5" over my sagging stock suspension while the front only gained 2". IF the 881's aren't enough for ya, I'd be interested in taking them off your hands down the line

I think the lightest trail gear is like 120 pounds. Arb is like 150, lightest all pro is like 70

I've heard so many different numbers for the ARB, including as light as 80lbs. Anyone know sure?
