And no your spot would be where I was thinking. I have to figure out how to pull that panel "in front" of my shifter. I think all that is in that panel is the aux and usb.

Does the green wire in landphil's method have +12v? I would like to run it to a OTRATTW switch that will light up when I turn abs off. Would that be possible?

Yes, it has +12 ignition power at all times - regardless of the position of the ABS disable switch. You already have a built-in switched ground ("blue wire"), so the lighted switch should be easy as long as the illumination isn't polarity sensitive (ie, it has a bulb, not an LED).

just posted this in the "so easy a caveman can do it" abs thread. i'll post it here as well to get some visibility on my particulars:

many thanks to everyone who has posted these abs mods. with all the snow we're getting in colorado, it's a lifesaver. slamming on the brakes on snow is easier on my nerves now that i can get rid of that blasted abs.

i have a 2007 trd sport, dcsb, 4x4. plain. no VSC, no diff lock, no traction control, nothing. you need a SPDT ON/ON switch with three prongs in back so you can ground it.

use the switch in the landphil method which is a Cherry KG (P/N KGC2BNB1BBB) bought from here.

wired it all up just like you described in this thread with a ground wire.

    here's the switch in place:

here are the lights i get when i'm in 4x4 and i flip the switch:

    thanks again.

ok, I just installed the switch via the landphil method. 2013 TRD sport. Same switch, same wiring schematic. Heres my question. With the switch in the down position the ABS light stays on. So does the VSC light (the little orange image of a car and the squiggly lines). With the switch up those lights stay on, and also get the following lights "TRAC off" and "VSC off". With this switch configuration should the ABS light not go out?

The ABS light goes out when the switch flipped to the "normal" or "ABS ON" on my truck (2006) and to the best of my knowledge, for all others that have used the method I did the DIY on.

Check that the fuse IG1#2 is not blown, and recheck that all connections are correct.

Just rechecked all connections. No issue located. both the 30 and 50 amp ABS fuse under the hood are good as is the 10 amp in the IGN #2. Same symptoms persist. ABS light stays on even in "normal" mode, so does the VSC light. When I flip the switch the VSC OFF light comes on, along with TRAC OFF.

Center wire from the switch (blue in your DIY writeup) connected to pin 4 (cut the light green wire and spliced "blue wire" into it). Top pole of switch connected to the other end of the green wire, going back into the harness. Bottom terminal grounded to truck.

I'd be looking for a wiring diagram for your 2013 to see if anything has changed compared to the one shown a few pages back, maybe something is different with the '13s. It does appear that nd4spdbh did the mod successfully on his '13 though.

What happens when you connect the (yellow and blue in my pics) wires back together? Did you test the on/on function of the switch with an ohm meter to make sure its not a faulty or mis-packaged switch? You should have continuity between the bottom and center terminals of the switch with the top of the rocker pressed, and continuity between the top and center terminals with the bottom of the rocker depressed.

Im even more puzzled now. This evening I got curious and put the wiring back to the stock configuration. The ABS and VSC light still stayed on. It would make me think there would have to be a bad fuse. Checked both the 50 and 30 amp under the hood. Look fine. I swapped them out with other 30 and 50 amp fuses from the panel and nothing changed.

This is a stupid question, but Im really grasping for a solution here. There is no such thing as "upside down" when installing the switch, right? Meaning that the top and bottom are interchangeable and not specific placements.

Got it figured out! The ECU had a trouble code stored, I guess from when I was running with the ABS fuse pulled. Had to jump 2 pins on the OBD2 and clear the trouble code. Works like a charm now.
