Thanks Crom! This weekend was the first time I really got to play with the ABS kill switch. I was at Anza Borrego and really put my brakes through their paces (more info on that in your thread as promised or you can check out the SOLA thread).
Oh and they're not Toyos. I have Cooper STT (the older version of the new STT Pro). They only have a little life left and I will be replacing with ST Maxx. I purchased one since I got my full sized spare recently and I love the new tire. Can't wait to get the full set. I love my Coops. 50k miles and still going strong, just want to try the Maxxs instead of a mud terrain to cut down on road noise.

Yes, they do have a similar tread. I think the toys may have slightly different lug placement which makes them even better for wet traction though. So you're in good hands... Rubber hands... Or rubber shoes I guess.
Thank you! Not CBI. Pelfrebilt hybrid. The shadows play tricks sometimes.
    Strike two, bud...

I've never tested it since I never bothered to do locker anytime on my truck... So I don't know.

Yep, I do it all the time. I kill ABS the second I touch gravel and then toggle my locker on and off as desired (with ABS killed the entire time). Works fine in 2H, 4H and 4L.

Ah, I see. It shouldn't matter, since both the ABS Killswitch and Locker Anytime Mod are (I believe) independent of the VSC and ATRAC functions and deal more with the 4WD ECU and tricking the truck into thinking it's in 4L. As far as I understand it the differences are as follows:

    1) Locker Anytime Mod is tricking the truck into thinking that it's in 4L and therefore travelling slow enough to not need traction assistance such as ABS/VSC/etc.

    2) ABS Killswitch mod is tricking the truck into thinking that the locker is engaged (and therefore in 4L) when it in fact is not. This would be overridden when the locker is engaged by the Locker Anytime Mod and shouldn't create any interference.

It may not be the best explanation, but that's how I reasoned my way through the two mods when I was worried about compatibility.

Finally got around to doing this mod, thanks @Crom for the write up. Have not had a chance to lock it up in gravel yet, but the right lights are all coming on. Quick question, the switch I have installed in the picture has a wire for when running lights are on, it lights up. Is there a wire close by that I can tap to get this switch to light up also? If not, I will start looking into it. I have an 06. Thanks.

Fuse block is right behind there, plenty of power sources. I can't recommend any, exact places though I haven't done this myself. Good luck, and welcome.

You use an add a fuse here:
    image.jpg
Fuse block behind your coin tray just under your switches.
It's a keyed fuse so light would only come on when the key is on.

TRAC is the system that cuts throttle when a when slips. And yes, this mod would disable that too. :)

Thanks. Hardest part was taking the bottom panel off. Everything else was easy thanks to you.

You're welcome. :) I've taken the dash apart a long time ago and it was kind of a pain as I recall.

This came in handy today during a brain fart. Thanks for posting it up. I was kind of bummed to have to use a relay but it works great. I have been using this mod for a while now with a toggle switch.

I'm now using this one: http://www.aironboard.com/online/pu...toyota-oem-replacement-abs-off-led-amber.html

I tried to move the A TRAC and USB ports over to the right but learned they have specific grooves so they only fit certain holes :( I haven't look yet on AOB but I may just swap out the stock switch with one from AOB so they all match.

I tapped the ignition fuse and ran a single wire then split it for both inputs on the switch. I think I may add a second wire and tap into lighting so the text isn't lit all the time.
