I would guess that this also allows you to turn abs back on without turning the truck off /on like other abs hacks need you to do.
One more mod I'll need to get done.

No, he's asking for TAIL light tap, as in dash illumination.
The switches above, are fogs and rear differential lock, they have the wires he seeks. GREEN (+) and GREEN with WHITE STRIPE(-)

    Finally done!

I did this three weeks ago, but somehow, it did not work as planned.

Had some time today to troubleshoot:

Started with the ground to see if if connection was good. Check.

Next, tested the switch to see if was functioning correctly. Check.

Finally checked the T-Tap connection to the blue wire with yellow tracer. Fail.

Closer examination showed that the metal slotted splice of the T-tap did not "bite" into the blue/yellow wire. I THINK it was because the wire was 12 years old and not soft/flexible, but more tough and hardened. I got rid of the T-tap, stripped the wire ends and performed an old school splice.

    Fixed. Works nicely.

    Thanks Nick!

Crom Switch installed. I got a push-button switch from aironboard.com and put it into one of the two center switch blanks.

    http://www.aironboard.com/online/pu...toyota-oem-replacement-abs-off-led-green.html

I just wired it to ground the locker wire as in the original post - no relay to make the switch lights work. It's painted similar to the other non-lighted factory switches, and since you get multiple dash lights when it's on I didn't see the need for the switch to light up too.

I also added dual USB power ports while everything was apart. Came out good and works like a charm. Thanks Crom!

    cool mod!
5 min and it was all done, thanks! didn't tap into the wire using a tap, I just remove the connector in the plug and secure my wire to the connector and plug it back in the plug with the wire attach to it, works like a charmed!

Did you buy the dual USB switch from the same site? Can't find it. Also when wiring the USB, where do you tap into?

Subbed. I off-road my taco a lot. I get this skipping with the brakes in soft sand and gravel. I'm assuming it's the dumb abs. My 99 taco didn't have abs. Thanks for the info!

I've had my kill switch in for awhile, but the weekend was the first real time that I had to use it. We had light snow over freezing rain, and even the flat Ohio roads became a challenge. Turning off the ABS really reduced my stopping distances. I leave everything alone when moving and just push the button if approaching a stop that looks iffy.

I have a 13' SR5 with 6 speed, I should follow the non offroad workaround with green wire correct?
