the flood gates of dtc,s have been unleashed on me it seems. today otw home from work after a normal light 25 mph stop the abs/brake light came on..after i shut it off and left from the gas station it was off and stayed off all the way home. a few weeks back while i was turning sharply in a gravel road the left wheel slipped a bit and 10 secs later it flashed, i felt a pulse in the pedal and it went off. if the problem serious if the light turns off after a shut down? can the code be read if the light is not on? this really frustrating

Old post I know, but I just had the same problem. Any ideas or fix? I was just driving home from dinner and both the ABS and brake light came on. Then, after a restart, they turned off and didn't come back on?

Interesting. I was backing out yesterday and then shifted into drive and the abs light kicked on engaged brakes and then the light turned off.

Did the brake light come on too? Or just abs?

Brake as well. No clue what it was from. I checked for codes and the only thing I had was an airbag code from about a month ago that was randomly thrown

Damn dude weird shit! It is bugging the hell out of me now. No problems for going on 8 yrs now and this little bugger.

But what really aches me is that it came on and turned off right after I restarted it. Did you have to restart? Or did it just turn off?

I read some things about possible wires being stretched or damaged, but I assumed that would have happened right when the lift was installed if I accidently tore a wire or something. Not years later.

Mine just went off. It's happened before and I said something to dealer and they looked at me like I was on crack.

This is making me go crazy!

I just checked all 4 wheel sensors, brake lines, and mast cyl for leaks. Everything looks great and no leaks or anything?!?

Have you replaced your battery since purchase? A low or dying battery can make electronics wonky.

If it's ever accompanied by the truck not wanting to shift out of park or the brake lights being wishy washy - and maybe even if it's not accompanied by those symptoms - then check the associated fuses (IGN2, maybe IGN1, etc.) and the brake light switch behind your brake pedal.

Mine does it intermittently and sometimes shows those other symptoms, sometimes doesn't. For me it's the brake light switch.
