That looks good. I thought you would have put it in the back seat.

This past weekend, I used my wife's Fiskers fabric measuring board, another 6" tall measuring ruler and some paper to rapidly mock up, at 1:1 scale, some realistic expectations of what type of sub to fit. I've quickly realized that the type-r, which has an absolutely badass rear structure basket and magnet, not to mention power handling, isn't going to fit. Not even the 10". I'm not removing the plastic covers from the seats, and I'm not modifying the seats at all. I'm not walling off the rear seats :), as part of the deal is that a space needs to still exist for a baby seat. I should just put the baby seat in front of the sub.

If it wasn't for my 'need' to run a 600+ watt amp for the sub, then I'd be fine using a lower power handling sub with a lesser mounting depth. I'm basically trying to replicate my old system from 15 years ago which I had to sell off (sub stage was an Eclipse 12" Al cone sub + Infinity kappa 202a amp, 600 watt rms, which really was 680watt or so). The bass was amazing when it needed to be, was extremely accurate and musical, and could play just fine at reasonable volume as well. I'm probably going to be stuck trading off money and just going for the JL 13tw5, which isn't a bad thing.

Is that a good sub ? I've watched many bass videos on youtube where guys are busting out their windshields with ridiculous bass. I think that was a brand commonly used.

naw, there is about = as much from digital design, american bass, B2 audio, Fi audio, etc.

Its a nice sub for very small spaces.
Companies have a wide range of subs these days filling most of the niches on the market.
Its like toyota, they have a truck, they have a compact etc.

The sd3 is the new version small space required subs

Btw, the second gen tacoma if you don't have anything on the windshield will last all the way up to 160db on a TL meter sealed up on the dash and still not fail.

mine failed at 156.6 but that was because i forgot remove my rear view mirror and the added weight cause it to blow a hole through where it was mounted

Sundown's a good sub. Goes low in small enclosures, and is fairly musical. I had two SD-2's, last Gen. , but I was happy with them, until I decided to go ported, and blew one because I forgot to set the subsonic filter on the amp.
