I would think the water is completely clean. It is 100% distilled from the air going thru the evap core... Not much of a rust hazard either... just comes out in a pretty stupid location.

Inside the evap core box things get damp. Dampness can lead to mildew. Mildew can lead to the famous "locker room" smell. You can buy products that you can spray in through the cabin air filter opening to eliminate the mildew. Just be sure it is safe for aluminum, you don't want something that will turn your evap core into a sludge that runs out the drain hole. :)

BTW I have seen the anti-mildew/anti-smell stuff at auto zone, advanced, etc...

Not much room on my 2015 TRD Sport - 4.0L, to reach the AC drain hose. Since there was no way for me to put two hands on the drain hose, the drain extension needed to be installed "one handed". I used a piece of split vinyl tubing. It was easy to slip on the short drain tube and zip tie to secure. (remember to orient the split in the tubing "up") It works just fine and was a relatively EZ mod.[IMG]

    The OEM drain hose.

Thanks. Will try that. My baby is currently getting new brakes and u-joints. Surprise Monday morning car repairs, always entertaining.
