My Tacoma is overdue for the filter replacement. I can barely see the filter under the Intake Manifold. Is it easier to access it from underneath, with the LF wheel removed?

Also, what is the easiest way to remove the fuel system pressure before taking the lines loose? The Haynes manual calls for pulling cables from the fuel pump but someone posted the pump's fuse can be pulled instead????

Would a Duralast replacement filter be OK?

most people tell you to pull the wheel but don't bother, its easy to get to from the top by reaching in "blind" and undoing the bolts that way

once you get it out I suggest you relocate it as explained in my thread here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-2-4l-2-7l-fuel-filter-relocation-mod.349406/

you will need flexible joint extensions or flex connectors to get things lined up to undo it and be sure when you buy the new filter that it comes with new crush washers as you will most likely drop one or two and lose them, if you do its easy to reuse the old ones but you cant buy them separately so that's why you need to be sure the filter comes with new ones. the wix fuel filters come with new crush washers but check to be sure they aren't missing when you buy it.
