Debating if I want to cough up the money for Philips LMZ bulbs in my fog lights or just go with some regular CREE ones and save a hundred bones. Might throw my HID kit in there and just get new bulbs for that, ballasts are not even a year old

They do project a lot more than stock bulbs. The light is much more crisp on the road and you can actually see whats illuminated where as the stock bulbs kinda just give off a low glow on the road.

Only thing I am worried about with the LMZ is if I will have enough clearance for the bulbs. I dont see why I wouldnt but that was one thing I forgot to check on the V6 they had at the dealership. Otherwise I definitely like the ability for LEDs to turn on with no warm up period. Especially considering the lights on the truck will be auto

I think the lows are H9 and highs are H11. I only ordered 1 set of VLED because there's only about 1.5 to 2 in clearance behind the low beams. If the fit then I will get another set for the highs. BTW the daytime Running Lights are a nice upgrade from gen2.

Sam is the washer fluid reservoir causing the clearance issue on the passenger side? If I recall the battery is the only other obstacle on the drivers side. It looks like since the fan vents out the side of the LMZ lights it "should" fit. I'm assuming you ordered the LMZ ones from VLED? Did they give you a delivery date? They're back ordered til the end of the month for H11

So for people with the TRD models and the wide angle fog lights it appears the same bulbs are used in the fog lights as the headlights

Can someone post a picture of under the hood on each side of the headlights, also while the lights are on, do the LED DRL stay on?

Actually its the frame. Walled steel for the engine compartment almost is smack in the middle of the low beam bulb. About 1.5 to 2" clearance. Looking at the light specs it is going to be close. Yes, the LMZ's and they said backorder till the 5th of Oct was my last update. They have the various plates to make them H9's or H11's. The issue is the fan unit on the back. Most of the better LED's have the fan. Some people thing thats just one more part to go bad but the lower end bulbs are the single assy without the converter and fans.

Sheet. Is that the issue for both sides? I hope they fit, seems like a high quality product. Not to mention 4x (essentially 16 diodes) LMZ LEDs per bulb should be super bright

Yup both sides, I looked before ordering and with the price, I only ordered 1 set. The high beams dont have the issue. Easy access.

Curious to see how it works out for you. Much more interested in these new LED over the existing HID system I've been using

Make sure there is enough clearance behind your headlights to not only install your VLED bulbs, but to adjust the collars. Installing them in my truck (Yes I know not a 3rd gen) and adjusting the depth and rotation was insanely hard.

On my 2011 Tacoma. Yes absolutely. Guys wanting these for the 3rd gen, I would ensure you have solid three inches behind your headlights in the engine compartment to install these. The cooling fans are pretty big so that, along with your hand in there adjusting doesn't leave a lot of room.

Massive engine bay with lots of open room elsewhere and they cram the lights in there Makes absolutely no sense. I can understand my Honda Civic being cramped under the hood but a Tacoma?

Sam are you able to measure the clearance behind the headlights or take a picture? My thought is as long as the bulb clears once installed then it should be fine. Theoretically they should outlast the truck
