I have a 2011, 4cyl, 4x4, access cab, automatic and I was wanting to do the OEM cruise mod listed over at Toyota Nation using the oem stalk and wiring harness. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171992&highlight=Hank6500) However the thread is pretty old. So far I have only found one poster that says it work, but the poster failed to mention specifics about his truck, 6 or 4 cyl, etc. So far the ones I have read saying it does not work have been manual transmissions. I also understand Toyota stopped pre-wiring for cruise control somewhere during the 09 model year for manuals, but no one has said anything about auto trans.

My question, is there anyone out there with a 2011, 4cyl, 4x4, access cab, automatic, that has done this mod and has it worked? If so, where you get your parts and part numbers if you have them or did you use the part numbers listed on the thread at ToyotaNation?.

Well you havent gotten any results so I will share my 5-speed experience. I have a 2011 4cyl 5speed Access Cab 4X4. I used the OEM stalk and added the clutch switch and it worked perfectly. I plugged in the OEM switch to the stock location and everything was functioning but the clutch switch. I think with the AUTO you might just be able to plug and play. My clock spring and everything was wired correctly from the factory.

    Good Luck

Thanks. I think it's probably worth the 115.00 bucks to give it a shot.

I will answer my own thread and questions. Anyone else considering this on a 2011 Auto, 4cyl, 4X4, (I also have power windows and door locks, but no key-less entry) and it DOES work. Just finished installing in my truck. Had a buddy hold the steering pad while I installed the cruise switch so I did not disconnect the the large air bag plugs. All went back together just fine. Cruise light works and holds speed good. Couldn't be happier!:D:D:D.
I ordered the parts at the beginning of the thread over at Tacoma Nation from 1styoyota.com , minus the clutch switch.
You will need 2 screws to fasten the cruise assembly. I thought I only needed one, but I ordered 2 i case I lost one...good thing as it requires 2.

lol...I ordered 6 screws because I had no idea how many to order. And man, the clutch switch was the only time consuming aspect on this install. AT would be a breeze. :)

Did you use two for the stalk cruise switch? I hope so. I am second guessing myself and wondering if maybe that cruise switch actually took 3....I don't think so??:rolleyes:
So how many did you use just for the cruise switch/stalk?
If you used 3 and I used 2....guess I would need to redo and add a screw somewhere?
BTW: I originally ordered 6 too, but changed it 2, but I ordered 2 wheel covers in case I screwed one up:homer::goingcrazy:.

I got my first 4x4 in 1972...haven't been without one! I still like Chrome!
It worked on my 08. I found a stalk at a local salvage yard for $10. Its the same stalk on cars and trucks, for my model year anyway.

I'm pretty sure I only needed 2, but I can't recall exactly as it was a few months ago and I'm getting aged ; ) Sorry!
