Has anyone been able to add two cameras (for a total of three) to the OEM display?

And any issue with the camera being always on?

If you use the module listed above it allows you to add two cameras and the option to connect to your turn signals for side cameras or manual switches. Also I believe the camera is triggered by completing the ground with the switch so as far as I know it's not on all the time. Rearview camera stays connected to your reverse circuit. Hope this helps.

2nd gens are better, change my mind.
@mCat any updates with this group buy? There is plenty of interest. I see @THE CALICO was too anxious and went ahead and bought the full kit and camera. I wouldn't mind saving $100 with a GB though.

For the cost of the bunch of wires they are selling, i see no reason why you shouldn't be able to run the cameras whenever/all the time.

If you wired in the front camera to a switch, couldn't you just flip the switch and it'll keep displaying it until you turn the switch off?

I'm wanting to add an infared camera, without having to add an additional display.

But maybe an aftermarket HU is the better way to start the process, especially since their cost for this silly module could pay for half of a decent HU.

That's exactly how it works flip the switch and the camera is turned on until you flip the switch again. Unless of course you wire it to a momentary.

No worries man. It may be easier with an after market head unit to add and control the cameras but I have no experience with that. I would imagine it to be cheaper if your looking to upgrade the head unit anyway. The cameras themselves are pretty cheap.

I don't care too much about upgrading the HU other than to gain control of cameras. Even though the Toyota entune circa 2003 setup is complete garbage for what it cost, i can deal with it other than the camera issue.

The big ass license plate bracket turned out to be useful for something. Drilled hole in bottom and popped camera in.

@THE CALICO & @mCat any reason in your opinion why the kit cost so much while the cameras are super cheap? Is there some kinda special chip in that box or it just a bunch of overpriced wires? Granted im not a big tech guy but it's shocking that the camera is 15 bucks and the wire to hook it up is 270 :notsure: :annoyed:

My only guess for the price is it was so new. I had no idea how to connect the switchable cameras for the head unit with out it and still don't. I do feel it's over priced but it was the only option I could find. Hopefully they'll drop the price soon and include better instructions because what they currently include leaves a lot to be desired. I'd like to also point out if you buy the kit and don't have RCA Cables just laying around your going to need to get some. RCA barrels would be better and then you wouldn't have all the excess wiring. All the RCA connectors are female and two of them have to be connected.

I'm not sure the resolution but it's as good if not slightly better than the
    factory back up cam.

I have been following this thread closely. However, I don't see where anyone has connected it to a 3rd Gen with navigation. If anyone has accomplished this with the harness used by mCat, or another option, please contact me.

New to this posting thing, but love reading all the threads. I would love to add a front camera to my 16' Taco. Has anyone done that with the wiring kits shown above? Where did you mount the switch? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
