Trying to figure how I could wire this: planning to install led reverse/aux lights in my rear bumper. Can I have a switch in the cab and also in the bed of the truck? Would the switch in the bed need its own power/ground/relay, etc?

Do you want them to come on when you are in reverse automagically, or just manually when you need some extra boost?

Manually. Don't want to blind anyone in parking lots but would rather use them when camping or backing up in the woods

Interested in same. Have a couple of ideas, but interested in seeing what the experienced recommend.

There are a bunch of different ways to do this. If you simply just want 2 switches to turn on the reverse lights that is pretty easy. Just use a 2 wire toggle and one side will go to ground and the other will go to a relay. It may be a good idea to add a diode for each switch to isolate them from each other as well. Then using on relay to activate the lights.

    Wire the relay as follows

85 - ground coming from the 2 switches
86 - constant or switch source of 12v fused appropriately
87 - 12v constant from battery also fused appropriately
30 - out to 12v in on the lights

Diodes are how i did mine. They come on when the relay gets power from the reverse light or the cargo light.

I fuse tapped the cargo light fuse, with a diode, sending that to the relay. Same with the reverse light fuse going to the same pin on the relay.

Now my bumper lights come on when im in reverse, or however i have my cargo light switch.
