Advice for Stripers?

No, not strippers......STRIPERS as in STRIPED BASS

Going out to Lake Mead, NV next weekend with a few boats and SeaDoos, and could use some advice on hooking Stripers. Chumming is allowed on the lake, so I was thinking anchovies, wait for the school to come clean it up and just throw in a top water?

Any advice is appreciated. Heard of people catching monsters out there, some over 50lbs!!!

I have never used anchovies before...

I have always used live shad and white flukes with a blood red hook. Of course I am in the Southeast so this may not help you. Check the local fishing reports to see what has been working for the guides and locals.

chum the water with anchovies and use anchovies, usually about 50-75 ft down, catches them all day long here in AZ

 

I don't want to spend my entire day chasing shad for a live line, so I think the anchovies will work. Good advice, either way.

Hopefully I can catch them boiling at some point...that would be sick.
