Just looking for some information on front and rear brake kits. What's good/not? Good brakes for towing?

It seems the way to go is braided lines, some slotted rotors if you want or brembo blanks, and some EBC pads if you want some extra bite. At least thats my plan of attack, and seems to be a pretty normal set up.

OEM are the best bet IMO, they last long stopping is decent, they also make a Toyota TRD front pads which are a performance pad with more stopping power, but they black dust the rims badly and will eat rotors up, I had them once but now just use the regular OEM ceramic replacements they do fine.

Lots of recommendations on here...I recently did my front brakes: new brembo blank rotors, hawk lts pads and ss braided lines. I am happy with them. Be sure your rear drums are operating properly and are adjusted correctly or you will get long pedal travel.

OEM pads lasted me 150k miles

I might try the brembo blank rotors next go round they seem as good as OEMs a lot of people say and a little better price.

Someone just posted a thread. It was upgrading the front to a bigger rotor, caliper, pads, etc... It was using older FJ and or 4 Runner parts.. Had all parts listed

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Look at the Adaptive One pads at Napa. That is what all your police vehicles are running and I have had very good luck with the many sets I have installed. My friends found out I can do brakes so now everyone in the neighbourhood wants them done. Seems like I am doing a couple brake jobs a week.
