Advice on SAS for 96 Tacoma

Starting to assemble parts for a solid axle swap in my 96 Tacoma 2.7l 4wd, already have a solid axle, another fully built housing and 37” boggers and iroks, oil pan conversion kit coming next but was looking for some insight on other parts needed, I am a ticketed welder so I can do all the fab myself but if anyone wants to help a rookie out any advice would be appreciated

Decide just what route your going buying a kit or a parts vehicle . The Toyota axle is not your only option

I found the one piece at a time sucks unless space is a real problem and your working outside your forever running after or ordering things holding you up.

The hardest part is keeping everything square and Lined up .

Don`t go crazy with the welding and pull things out of shape I fix more swaps for just that reason.

Thanks for the tips, trying to go as cheap as possible and I won’t have a shop until the the spring or summer so trying to start assembling as much as I can before I start, more wondering about what steering boxes are typically used, also have heard about doing an ifs hub swap, and what would be decent used springs for the front

What advice are you seeking

 

Chop the frame off right when it bends up and in and build new frame rails. Saves a ton of time cutting the IFS off and you don't have to plate the frame. Check out my build thread, I did it about as cheap as you possibly can and not be 100% ghetto.
