Geez, I wish this forum would bring things to my attention more efficiently. I’ve moved my Kenwood mic up to the overhead console and back to the cluster twice now, basically meaning 4 install sessions. I was using a 3D printed adapter but the Kenwood mic up in the overhead spot just did not work right. I’d tell Siri to play a song and it would call someone. Very annoying. Joe I finally find this thread after I JUST put my Kenwood mic back on the cluster. Will be ordering the Toyota specific Enfig mic now. Hopefully this is the last of the mic shenanigans once and for all with better call quality for the other end to boot.

@daveeasa, since you are interested in this….it is a 3.5mm jack. I am not 100% sure but I think a 3.5 is only two conductors? If that’s the case, I would imagine I could snip the cable on the mic and install it into the overhead console connector and then terminate the cut cable end and put it into the truck side of the connector, then route the 3.5 down to the radio? Would make for a nice plug and play disconnect for
the overhead console. Any idea what wire terminals are used at that connector?

Actually never mind on the connector stuff. The overhead console connector (console side) is soldered to a board. There are 4 open spots on the truck connector side but unless I solder my mic to the overhead console board, I’m outta luck. That’s ok. I’ll just leave some slack so I can lower the console down onto a seat when needed. Worst case you can unclip it out of the console with a small flat blade screwdriver quite easily.

Yeah, I just remove and replace when I drop the overhead which is only to program new openers which should be limited to moving which I hope is a "never again" sort of thing for me. With that said, I just did move so f me? :)

I actually purchased a Tombit but wound up reselling it to another guy before trying it out. Some guys had trouble with just carplay which is my primary use.

Honestly I sort of hate voice calls, might even prefer no mic at all but since it's already there, it's nice once in a while when I just have to suffer through a voice call and I'm forced to contribute.
