Old thread but has good info. Has anyone confirmed if 14 models are missing the 2 wires?

I have a TRD 4x4 with engine plus if it matters. Figured I'd ask before ripping off door panels.

Can I run strait to the connector that missing the 2 wires to send signal to both mirrors? If not or if no one responds I'm just going to hard wore them to the rear tails avoiding the DTR issue up front..

    IT LIIIIIVES!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have an unusual issue to troubleshoot. I installed my ProEFX mirrors with turn signals on my 2015 TRD OR. Upon install, the turns didn't work, and it was dark out, so I figured my truck must not have had the correct wiring for the factory mirror turns. Fast forward 2 weeks, and just today while walking to the truck, I hit the unlock, and the passenger side mirror turn flashes. Double check the turn signal, and that works too! It just... decided to start working. But just the passenger side. Not the driver.

    Anybody experience this before?

Nope. No idea. My passenger side works fine, but the driver side doesn't. Wiring all looks like it's fine, fuses are fine, I've power cut led the battery a handful of times, and still nothing. Mine were second hand, so maybe there's something wrong internally. No clue.

Any updates on this thread? I have a 2012 TRD OR and am trying to install mirrors with signals. I opened the driver side door only to test before installing. There are 5 wires but when I plug the mirrors in the signal doesn't work. I confirmed the power adjustment does work. I also plugged in the other mirror to see if I had a faulty one but same thing. Any help is appreciated.

The black clip missing two wires was location on drivers side of my 2013

*I opened the blinker loom behind drivers kick panel as posted in other thread- but colors weren’t as listed. Used a simple test light to locate.
    Hope this helps!!

Tap into connector 1C on your cab fuse box. pins 9 (Right) & 18 (Left)

terminals are 090/2.3II types unsealed, get connectors and make T harness to branch towards door mirror signals. You must add the wires to the Towing Converter relay in the T harness...

The later model Tacoma uses a different turn signal relay than the one in your 2008.
Your Tacoma has a turn signal share from the Cab fuse Box connector 1C pins 9 & 18. It also has a turn signal share wires to the Towing Relay (this one is located behind the Driver's side kick panel.)
If you purchase connectors 90980-11534 & -11535 and 14 pairs of male & female 090/2.3II terminals you can assemble a T harness to place between the Towing Relay connector and the vehicle harness connector that mates to the Towing Relay. NO cutting the vehicle harness.

That sounds like exactly what i need to do, but i’m not competent or intelligent enough to figure that out on my own.

When i do wiring, i still have to get a piece of printer paper and draw how it all goes before i start, or i’ll get confused :anonymous:

You could T-tap the signal wires going to the Towing Converter....

So i can buy plugs and create a harness so i don’t have to tap into anything?

Then they’ll function as turn signals when my other signals are on?

Thats what i would prefer to do. What gauge wire should i get and where/what else sgould i gather up?

Length between connectors is up to you. Connection to left & right mirror can have their own connector, no need to tie into the door to mirror connector.
