After Market Mirrors with Turn Signal Lights

Tucked in way up above all the harness coming from the engine into the cab. You have to remove the kick panel.

 

So its my understanding, what you mean i should do, is get a wire from each mirror to run into the towing tail harness box. Then what do i do with the other wire from each mirror? Because each turnsignal runs off of two wires, the other 3 wires run the power mirror. I really appreciate the help, i’m sorry if i’m being difficult. I just want to do this right and and as clean as i can the first time

 

Do you have the mirrors?
What connector to they have?
What connector does the door have? (The door might just have 3 wires to the power mirror and no wires to the mirror turn signal)

 

I took a look at my side mirror wiring while I had the door panels out to update my speakers. There are definitely 5 wires going up to the mirrors in my truck. 3 wires for the mirror adjustment and the other 2 wires for the mirror blinkers. I placed a voltmeter on the 2 wires and didn’t get any voltage . Similar to many off-road Tacomas, the 2 wire blinkers are not live and need terminated to work. I plan on doing this on a warmer day after winter is over.

My door harnesses are 3 wire, 5 pins available but the mirrors are 5 wire and all fuce puns are used. So i can just put wires to the door harnesses and they’ll plug right into the mirrors. Then, pull power from the tow harness like you said.

Thats how i think i’d like to do it.

But i also need to get out my power probe and check to make sure the wires on the new mirrors are in the same pin locations and determine which wire for the signal does what.

I have a 2008, so no provisions were ever there for mirror signals on 05-11s

 

Remove the kick panel and look for this connector:

slots 1 (+) & 2 (-) are the mirror turn signal.
It's on the sidewall coming out of a white plastic surround protector.

Plugged in the mirrors and everything works as is. So now i know what wires are extra, just gave to figure out which is power and which is ground on the new mirror and then figure out how i want to pin/run wires and what gauge wire i should use etc.

 

I've not seen these ebay mirrors mounted on a truck. Wondering how they look up close and personal. Do they match the Tacomas in size and shape? The finish looks pretty glossy. Share pics if you got 'em. My SR5 has black, not color keyed mirrors. This could do the trick.
