Aftermarket Catalystic Converter.....????

    Ok, so my front, upstream O2 sensor is bad and needs to be replaced so I can pass state inspection. So this morning I took my truck to my mechanic's shop. The nuts on my O2 sensor on my truck are so rusted to nothing, the cat has to be removed inorder to remove nuts and studs and replace them. But, the flanges on both ends of the Cat section are also rusted out to nothing as well, so it can't be done without replacing the whole Cat section. The OEM Cat is about $900 just for the cat itself. No way I can afford that, so my question is, What aftermarket Catalytic Converter is decent, that won't rust out in 2 years? I've seen them online as cheap as $140ish up to OEM price. My truck is a 2003 Tacoma 3.4L, 4x4, auto, double cab, SR5, TRD incase all that info is needed. I'd like the cheapest I can get that will last a few 5 years or so. Looking for a direct fit since my exhaust is pretty new from the Cat back.

    weld new flanges on the cat and be done.

    If your still in NJ your lucky your not replacing the complete exhaust system every 2 years

    The liquid Brine is Brutal !!

    I use the Walker Direct fit Cats they would last forever if not for the winter.

    Labor wise you might be cheaper to just install a New Cat instead of spending time getting the old studs out and replacing with new.

    One does not need to remove the cat to swap out the studs it just makes it much easier .

    Theres nothing left to get old studs out, including flanges. Trust me, cat section needs to be replaced. Never said I was looking for used, and the one on the Amazon link is a weld in, not a direct fit like I asked. I'll just get whatever I can afford. Thanks anyway.

    I'm running the flowmaster ones great fit and no lights. The walker exhaust will rot out before you know it. They are cheap for a reason.

    Yeah, thanks, but cheap is what I need right now. Plus, I don't use the truck during the Winter months, so not worried about salt rot. I only use my truck to tow my motorcycle trailer when I go riding which is from March to November. My truck sat in my driveway since last Nov. I put less than 1,000 miles a year on it. Inspection expired last Nov and didn't need it until now. The sensor went bad when my head cracked and was blowing steam. Got that fixed the year before. I plan to order the Walker Cat next week. Local auto parts stores its $240ish, Amazon is $184 to my door. I already have the O2 sensor. Thanks again....:)
