Any recommendations for an outside temperature gauge for a 2011 truck that did not come with the stock temperature/compass gauge built in the overhead console?

I use a wireless accurite from Walmart. $10. I zipped tied the outside sensor under the bed. Works great.

How about one of those auto-dimming compass/temp rear view mirrors? Like this.......

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

It has wedge style mount on glass & just a power and ground as far as wiring then run temp probe to front of truck somewhere it can clip to on radiator support. I added this to my Protege5 and love it. Temp/compass readout is under the mirror, not in it but they have those too. Not seeing why they couldn't be added to Toyota unless wedge mount for mirror is drastically different. Been thinking about this for my reg cab where overhead console not an option.

Thanks for the mirror idea, but I have a backup camera that displays in the rear view, so that won't work.

Scangauge's intake temp, when moving, is usually within about 5 degrees of the thermometers on nearby bank clocks. Close enough.

Just search the junkyards for one from an oem. The resell the parts you don't need. Net cost to me was 5 bucks!
